Welcome to a Biomedical Battery specialist of the HP Laptop Battery
HP ENVY m6-w103dx is a laptop meant for professional, heavier use. Featured are things like Core i5 processor and Full HD display that, if you ask me, should put a smile on a power user’s face. But the thing is, this notebook is also quite inexpensive, so surely there is something missing? I’ll tell you about that below!
Processor performance is all good with HP ENVY m6-w103dx. The unit with battery such as HP HSTNN-LB4N Battery, HP HSTNN-UB4O Battery, HP PI06 Battery, HP PI09 Battery, HP TPN-Q122 Battery, HP HSTNN-LB6I Battery, HP VI04 Battery, HP HSTNN-DB6K Battery, HP Envy TouchSmart 17 Battery, HP Envy TouchSmart M7 Battery, HP HSTNN-YB4O Battery, HP H6L38AA Battery is called Intel Core i5-6200U, a sixth generation dual-core CPU of 2.3GHz base frequency and 2.8GHz turbo. It does a pretty good job in CPU Mark benchmark, reaching around 3900 points, so snappy performance can be expected and many heavier programs (Illustrator, for example) will also run. Couple that with the included 8GB memory and there should be no lag with this computer as far as software is concerned.
There are only good things to be said about the display. It’s a 15.6-inch model with touch and Full HD support and IPS panel (meaning you’ll most likely get viewing angles of 180 degrees). Now, the display also turns 360 degrees, which means you can use it like a tablet as well. Front-facing webcam is likewise included.
Gaining Internet access shouldn’t be a problem, you’ll find a Gigabit RJ-45 port and 2×2 802.11 AC-standard WiFi + Bluetooth card inside.
The keyboard is backlit on this unit.
Not the best storage drive is found in HP ENVY m6-w103dx, just a “blast from the past” one terabyte 5400RPM hard drive. You can make this notebook much faster if you add a solid-state drive; however for that you need to take out the HDD first. And some people might actually benefit from this large hard drive if you want to use the notebook as data storage.
Selection of ports is rather average; three USBs (two USB 3.0, one USB 2.0) for your devices and one HDMI-out for hooking up an external display.
The 3-cell 48Whr should last for 4-5 hours under web browsing or text editing before you need to recharge it.
It’s not a good idea for gamers to get HP ENVY m6-w103dx. The graphics are commanded by a small, slow integrated chip called Intel HD 520. It is not going to bring you excellent frame rates and eye candy with new games. A real life example would be the popular Grand Theft Auto 5 which, on normal settings and 720p resolution, would give around 25 FPS. Not that good, but if you are into older ones such as Minecraft or World of Warcraft, the situation is much better.
I don’t think there are many programs HP ENVY m6-w103dx couldn’t handle. The latest generation Core i5 processor with 8GB system memory are quite a combo and will take you far with software. Also remember the unit also doubles as a tablet, you don’t need two separate devices. Another question is the gaming performance; there is not much of that because dedicated graphics are not included – for this price, it would be quite a miracle! So if you are not planning to play games, I’d recommend taking a look at this fast yet affordable HP laptop.
